Iconography, A Reflection of Anonymity. Featuring the artwork of Matt
Siren, Peat Wollaeger (stenSOUL), Royce Bannon, Chris and Veng of

accurate cross section of the street art one finds in NYC and beyond.

Each artist demonstrates their own personal blend of techniques and
styles as they have developed a highly personalized means of branding
their work, and ultimately, themselves. The icons they choose to
place on the streets hold an individualized significance, a means of
projecting self onto a surface interpreted by the general public.
Their work represents a generation’s visionary artistic approach to
the urban landscape.

Through a variety of methods including wheat paste, screen print,
spray paint, stencils and more, their chosen techniques encompass a
broad spectrum of what one encounters on the streets today. However,
it is the integrity of the iconic imagery that translates the rawness
of the streets into the refinement of the gallery setting.

Hello friends, we here at the TSB215.com headquarters are proud to announce our second group show of the year DIA DE LOS BANDIDOS!

So recently, very recently actually, Ticky and I (UWP) were asked to participate in an awesome project with The Public Works Department and the NBA in which we are to paint a set of basket balls and a backboard. Very fun stuff!

Punk Rock Flea Market

Today El Toro, Ticky, Bob Will Reign and I had a table at the Punk Rock Flea Market. This being the first time i ever went, not to a flea market, but to the PUNK ROCK flea market, i learned the following things.

-BRING WATER!
   figure out how much water you drink in a week, multiply it by 412, and bring twice that-"PUNK -ROCKERS" NEED DEODORANT!
       aren't there any deodorants with Dead Kennedy's logos on em? there should be
-NINJA TURTLE SKATEBOARDS ARE OVER-PRICED!
       El Toro knows what im talking about
-TURN THE F%@*ING MUSIC DOWN!

Thanks UWP for posting your fliks at the "Summertime" show at Abakus. Also thanks for everyone who did show up even though the weather was shitty that morning. Long story short, July 10th, 2010, El Toro had his second solo show over at Abakus Take Out in china town. As always the stuff was looking dope, the place had good tunes, and the PBR was free. Power In Numbers Show

So the Power in Numbers show was a blast. I can finally live a little less stress free now that its finally come together and over. This being the first show I put together I definitely learned a lot. I learned ya definitely can't please everyone, sometimes awesome artwork just doesn't fit on the wall due to lack of space, and the more time ya have to plan a show the better. Only having a month I feel it came together pretty damn good.
I'd like to thank everyone for helping out to make this happen. You know who you are. Without ya this show would have never gone down.
And everyone that came out, you are awesome. Always good to see all the sticker peoples!

Some of our good friends are having a show you should definitely check out!!

On Friday, June 25th, death will come knocking on the door of Williamsburg's Fresthetic, with the opening of Cake, Chris RWK, Veng, Luna Park, and Becki Fuller's show "Death Warmed Over". Through their paintings and photography, each artist has embarked on an exploration into the many nuances to be found in the meaning of "death" and have incorporated their unique interpretations into their art. For some, death is found in the decay & destruction what was once fresh and new or in the struggles with the demons that plague and sometimes consume us. For others it can be found in cultural practices, such as the festivities of Halloween, the spiritual relationship between the Native American warrior and their prey, or taking a closer look at life in Mexico, a country who's intimacy with death permeates their culture.

The show runs from June 25th - July 30th, with an opening reception on Friday, June 25th from 7-10pm. There will be an art scavenger hunt, live painting in the back yard, and while we may be morbid, we aren't cheap, so the drinks are on us! So, come shake your bones to the musical styling's of our favorite DJ Royce Bannon and have a time so good that it will haunt your memory for years to come!

Stencils ain't so bad

So this was supposed to be a post about block printing till i soon realized i can't focus on carving that shit out for more then 10 minutes. Plus having only a razor blade to carve it with didn't help at all. I'm lucky to still have all my fingers. So instead I'm gonna blab for a minute about stencils.

Well uhhh.....lets see here. Uhmmm.....Stencils are cool. I haven't done them in a long long time but recently i've been cutting a few here and there. I like them, I understand how they work, I just wish i had the power to force myself to do multi-layer ones. I can't work on something that long. Even like a canvas, I sit for like an hour or two and then have to put it down for a day, or a week, or a month. So yeah, this is a 2 layer stencil, nothing too fancy. I got a bunch of vinyl to paint it on so im psyched about that. Hopefully with some taped off this and some spray glued that, it will come out clean and good to go

Hello again! Long story short, what ya see above is the first draft flier. For what, for what you might ask? (your not asking if you just read it but im gonna blab about it anyway) Power in Numbers. Sticky Bandits along with the 33, teamed up with OVER KILL Studio to make this happen.

My busy summer just got busier i tell ya. SO Yes!- its open call send in your jazz and it will be up for the show.

I asked El Toro if he had any name ideas for the show and this was the first one he said. For about a week everyday i thought something different. I liked this one first and when it came time to whip up a first draft flier this is what worked best. I feel like the name represents street art stickers very well. Power in numbers, the more you put up the stronger your army gets, the more others get involved, the more the scene grows, the more shows go on, the more its respected. Thanks TORO!

A lot of the things that will be combo'd and on display are not your typical things. What I mean is there arent just gonna be boards on walls - and if there are any boards on the walls, i want to install them around town after the show is done.

So get off your butt and send us a sticker pack!

Hey its josh? Toro told me if I didn't write a hello to you all, he'll have to beat me up and sleep with my mom.... again! But you know what, I'm not afraid of just 1 of the Sticky Bandit members, but the other 4 scare me when they get together. Thats the main reason they ran me out of town, and that town was called Philly. Yes I'm out here in Los Angeles, all alone, cold and scarred. Wrap your mind around this...I even saw a naked homeless man today, naked... butt cheeks in all! YIKES!

Hello! It's time to introduce myself! Tick Tock - more commonly dubbed as Ticky! from friends and supporters in Philadelphia. Proud to be the only female member of the TSB collective, I feel very lucky to be a part of this group because they are good friends and kickass artists. I have always been very creative, but my inspiration to join in the stickering world came from my brother UWP. Together we have been stickering, drawing, painting, trading, collabing, meeting new people, starting new events, and participating in art shows around the world for almost 6 years now. What the future brings, who knows, but its a fun ride, and I hope y'all enjoy the show!

My name is UWP, short for UnderWaterPirates.
A lot of people put Under and Water together, and then Pirates,
but it was originally intended to be all one word with UWP in capitals.
I'm over it though. Whatever works for ya is fine.
So yeah, stickers - pretty much the best idea ever in my opinion.
Writers, posters, whatever ya do, I respect that.

What's going on!! I figured I would show all you visitors my work space. Not many of you know much about me, well here is a pretty good look inside. It is usually much messier, so you got it on a good day.

As far as Im concerned, the "Sticky Bandits" 2010 TRADEMARK TM R COPYRIGHT ALL RIGHTS RESERVED! (just messing around, but seriously, at least a TM after that would be cool) represents artists who paved the way for the Philadelphia Sticker Art scene and even influencing the movement across the US and World! I am glad to be a member. Pay attention as we are always busy cookin' up ideas, always making stickers, and making art.

Whats up fellas? EL TORO here and wanted to introduce myself to the blog. I am one of the five founding members of Sticky Bandits. We have some exciting projects lined up this Summer that we will be sharing on this blog. It's kinda rough around the edges right now, but we are constantly updating and changing the blog.
